REVIEW: Mr Bean's NEW Chicken Bolognese Eggwich

Image 1

Instead of sleeping in on this Good Friday holiday, I hopped on a bus and headed to Mr Bean at Vivocity to try out their NEW Chicken Bolognese Eggwich.

Fortunately, there was only a short queue when I reached and I was able to place my order quickly. As I was not quite sure how to pronounce "Bolognese", and too unmotivated to confirm on a public holiday morning, I showed Image 1 (above) to the Mr Bean auntie, and mumbled, "我要这个 (I want this)".

When the auntie asked me, "要几个? (how many do you want?)", I unhesitantly replied, "两个 (Two)". A Chicken Bolognese Eggwich paired with the classic Soya Milk would probably have been enough, but my company is footing the bill, so...why not? :P

Total damage to my company's wallet was $8.20 (inclusive of GST):

Chicken Bolognese Eggwich  + Classic Soya Milk  = $4.70

Additional Chicken Bolognese Eggwich  = $3.50

In hindsight, just a Eggwich and Soya Milk were enough to satisfy my stomach.

Both the Eggwiches were piping hot when I received them. As I bit into one, my mouth was immediately filled with a tangy tomato taste, a taste that you would find familiar if you have tried pasta with Bolognese sauce, or any Bolognese dishes. There was also a trace of stringy melted cheese inside, which reminded me of pizza.

Overall, it is quite refreshing to find the Bolognese flavour in an Eggwich, instead of the usual dishes. I personally feel that this is really good to have in the morning, when one has just woken up and needs an energy boost. Thus, I would give the Chicken Bolognese Eggwich a score of (4.5 out of 5)

The Classic Soya Milk, with its simple taste, paired well with the Eggwich.  And this hot drink amplified the energy boost provided by the Eggwich.  If you are looking to have a hearty breakfast on the go, these are for you!
